FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Virtual Assistant Training Academy announces the first ever Multi-VA team training program lead by team-building expert and Internet marketing powerhouse, Melanie Benson Strick

Summary:  When a virtual assistant’s workload becomes overwhelming, they run the risk of dropping the ball or turning away business. In short, they can no longer run the show themselves. At that point it’s wise to invest in building a team of sub-contractors who will help carry the load. By taking the Master the Multi-VA Team: Learn to Build a Profitable Multi-VA Business training program, VAs will be in the best possible position to grow a high-earning, high-functioning business, do more of what they love, and get more free time.

(Wasaga Beach, ON) - February 23, 2011 - Virtual assistants get into business to help others. The goal is to work with as many clients as possible, providing a range of services that are done efficiently and on time. Trouble is, the faster a VA’s business grows, the less able they are to get everything done. Suddenly productivity goes out the window, along with unsatisfied clients.

“This is a scary place to be,” says Pam Ivey, 10-year veteran VA and owner of the Virtual Assistant Training Academy. “I remember reaching that point. I was working way too many hours and was overwhelmed by the amount of details I had to keep organized for my growing clientele. I knew I was at the breaking point.”

As funny as it sounds, for a VA, this is a good problem to have. There’s excitement around the business doing so well mixed with exhaustion from trying to keep up. The fact is, no one can be everything to everyone, and no one can do it alone. The good news is, putting a team of sub-contractors in place is the perfect answer for alleviating the business owner’s strain while continuing to efficiently serve clients.

But building a team of sub-contractors is no easy feat. If a VA doesn’t have the right systems in place for their workers or understand the keys to hiring, firing, organizing and monitoring a team, they’ll quickly compromise their business’ bottom  line and its reputation. Luckily a new Multi-VA team building program is now available through the Virtual Assistant Training Academy that addresses every aspect of working with teams.

Led by success coach and long-time Internet marketing powerhouse, Melanie Benson Strick, renown for her team building expertise, this course is by far the ultimate solution to any business owner’s one-man-band, how-do-I-grow dilemma. “I’m so excited to be partnering with Melanie in this endeavor. Her experience in building teams is truly amazing,“ says Ivey. “I know she’s helped countless entrepreneurs achieve 5- and 6-figure success by using her proven methods, systems, and tools. I myself have benefited from her training as well and have run a successful 6-figure Multi-VA business for the past four years.”

“It’s all about learning how to delegate effectively,” says Melanie Benson Strick, Big Idea Catalyst and owner of Success Connections. “I’ve been building and managing teams since my days in corporate America. In the online virtual business world, it’s even more important to understand how to work with virtual teams. They can either help build or break your business depending on what you do and what you know.”

Numerous VAs are serious about wanting to grow their businesses by expanding to a team model as evidenced in a recent survey. Over 75% of respondents are thinking about it but they’re not sure when to do it, if they have the money to make it happen or how to ensure they hire the right people. Now with the in-depth training they will get with the Master the Multi-VA Team: Learn to Build a Profitable Multi-VA Business will set them on the right path today for major success tomorrow.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Virtual Assistant Training Academy (VATA) creates partnership with the International Virtual Assistants Association (IVAA) to offer training programs to VAs around the world

Summary: Pam Ivey, virtual assistant industry veteran and advocate, and owner of the VA Training Academy, announces a new alliance with the International Virtual Assistants Association, the premier organization dedicated to supporting virtual assistants.

(Wasaga Beach, ON) January 2, 2011 – The International Association of Virtual Assistants (IVAA), a non-profit organization, today announced a brand new partnership with the VA Training Academy (VATA) that will provide a new era of training opportunities and more support for their membership.

Quote from Jeannine, “We are excited to be working with Pam and the VA Training Academy to bring a wide variety of training programs to our membership, including those who are just starting out,” says Jeannine Clontz, president of IVAA.

“The IVAA is a well-respected organization and I am delighted to be able to bring cutting-edge training to its members. Whether their members are new to the profession or seasoned VAs, we have training programs to suit a wide variety of interests and goals,” says Pam Ivey, VATA’s founder.

IVAA founder Christine Durst, along with Michael Haaren, were among the masterminds behind the VA industry, which they spearheaded in 1995. Durst believed the Internet could open her door to global business, and she was correct. With Haaren, she co-founded Staffcentrix and IVAA separately but simultaneously -- with the intention of staying at the helm of the former and turning the latter over to its members as soon as membership reached meaningful numbers. IVAA was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1999 and became officially recognized as a 501(c)(6) on February 2, 2001 with 28 members. Since then, IVAA's membership has grown to more than 600, in 16 countries. Collectively they conduct business worldwide, via the Internet. The Board of Directors is now comprised of five officers and five directors-at-large.

IVAA’s mission includes the education and support of VAs as well as educating the public on what VAs do and how they can bring value to business owners, to ensure high ethical industry standards, provide networking opportunities, and provide members with professional certification programs.

In the “old days” virtual assistants started out providing the services of an “offsite secretary” but over the years, with the advent of technology, they have become multi-talented specialists. VAs can now be website designers, copywriters, e-commerce specialists, social media experts, online business managers, and more.

The VA Training Academy delivers both live and self-study programs in a variety of formats to accommodate different learning styles. The catalog includes training in starting a viable virtual assistant business, becoming e-commerce, publicity, membership, audio/video specialists, and more. Courses are given by Ivey as well as other leading virtual assistant industry experts – all are content-rich and results-oriented.

“The plan has always been to offer virtual assistants around the world comprehensive and reliable training programs that give them the skills, experience and confidence they need to be competitive and succeed in their businesses,” says Ivey. “And our new partnership with IVAA helps set the stage for all of that and so much more!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Renown virtual assistant industry advocate helps new and seasoned VAs train and work in today’s online business world

Summary: In today’s economy, companies are downsizing like never before and people are being re-assigned or losing their jobs all together, forcing many to try going into business for themselves. Additionally, many virtual assistants are challenged to find enough clients when their skills aren’t in tune with what’s needed today. Pam Ivey, veteran virtual assistant and virtual assistant industry advocate, rolls out a brand new online training school aimed at helping new and experienced VAs find both career satisfaction and business success.

(Wasaga Beach, ON) September 30, 2010 – It’s no secret that today’s economically-challenged times present many new hurdles for employees and business owners alike. Competition for dwindling jobs is fierce, and more and more business owners are deciding to outsource much of their work in order to cut expenses. Yet these scenarios create the perfect environment in which to cultivate a new career or further grow a virtual assistant business. And that’s where virtual assistant training is critical.

“I’m very excited to finally see one of my long-held dreams materialize,” says VA Training Academy founder, Pam Ivey. “This virtual training academy is the culmination of several years’ work behind the scenes. Now I’m thrilled to be unveiling it to virtual assistants as well as those new to the industry.”

Ivey is a seasoned virtual assistant, speaker, author, Internet marketer and serial entrepreneur and has inspired and mentored countless VAs throughout her career. She’s learned from her own experience as well as from her wide network of online business professionals, exactly how a virtual assistant business gets off the ground and not just survives but thrives – in any economy.

The virtual assistant industry has been in existence since the 1990s, officially started by Thomas Leonard, founder of Coachville, and since then has been one of the biggest revenue sources for virtual professionals. However, these days, VAs work with clients in numerous industries across the globe. And they handle much more than routine administrative duties.

VAs can be website designers, copywriters, social media experts, and more. Additionally, there is a new trend and industry requirement for online business managers, a new breed of management professionals who basically run a company on behalf of the owner, in order to allow them to focus on their passion and revenue-generating activities.

Ivey says one of the biggest things people have to learn when starting a VA business is to change their mindset from one of being an employee to being a professional independent entrepreneur. “That means you bring your skills and expertise to your clients and take initiative, rather than wait to be told what to do. But in order to do that, you need to understand and have working knowledge of the online systems most in demand today.”

The VA Training Academy delivers both live and self-study programs in a variety of formats to accommodate different learning styles. The catalog includes training on introduction to virtual assistance, becoming e-commerce, publicity, membership, audio/video specialists, and more. Courses are given by Ivey as well as other leading virtual assistant industry experts – all are content-rich and results-oriented.

“This is just the beginning,” says Ivey. “I want to develop a much larger curriculum and create alliances in order to deliver these programs in several languages. The plan has always been to offer virtual assistants around the world comprehensive and reliable training programs that give them the skills, knowledge and experience they need to be competitive and succeed in their businesses.”
